Lenoir first settled there in the early 1800s, through the Civil War, the advent of the railroad at Lenoir's Station, and Lenoir City's incorporation as a city in 1907. It also emphasizes the development of Lenoir City's business and industry, particularly its leading sector, the Lenoir Car Works.
